This set includes a stunning 40 inch strand of graduated Aurora Borealis crystals and two pair of earrings. The necklace was re-strong recently on a double filament for security, and is ready to dance the night away, with earrings to match! One pair of earrings features a white metal clip on earring with crystal, and a 1.75 inch drop of AB crystals matching the necklace. The second pair features sterling silver earwire and 3 AB crystals.
The Aurora Borealis crystal was 'invented' by Swarovski in 1955. Often referred to as "ABs" by collectors, the phenomena they exhibit is due to refraction effect applied to the prism. The term "Aurora" refers to the Aurora Borealis (or Northern Lights), a natural phenomena that occurs in higher latitudes, toward the poles, creating a magnificent display of color in the night sky.
